Sustainable Wood – Eco Boards

ID Ess Cultural Development has sourced the best sustainable wood eco boards materials for any fit out project.

MDF MDF

A high-quality formaldehyde-free MDF, made using a high proportion of wood waste taken from both industrial and domestic waste streams.

MDF is available in a wide range of thicknesses and sheet sizes.  It can also be set into a mould in pulp form.

Intrallam® Intrallam®

Intrallam® is constructed of reclaimed timber, cut into thin wafers which are sandwiched back together under high-pressure.

Made from 100% recycled softwood, Intrallam® can be made into structural joists and frames which are both robust and easy to work.  The added bonus is that the timber doesn’t warp or bend.

Hardboard Hardboard

Hardboard, predominantly used for skimming softwood frames to form durable panels, is made from 100% recycled wood.  It uses no formaldehyde or bleaching agents during its manufacture and is available in a variety of sheet thicknesses.

FSC Timber FSC Timber

There are guidelines and recommendations available to show how a real timber specifier can ensure that the wood they select comes from a sustainable, managed forestry unit.

If you are considering specifying timber, hardwood or softwood, we would recommend that you insist upon the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.

The FSC is the first effective, international, standard to be placed on general forestry practice worldwide.

The FSC can be contacted via their website:  www.fsc-uk.org
